Maui Electric backs out from plans to buy power from Anaergia biofuel plant

In Hawaii, Maui Electric Co will not go through with sourcing power from a plant powered by biofuel produced from the Lahaina wastewater treatment plant. The project received regulatory approval in March and negotiations for the purchase contract with Anaergia, the company developing the project, have been going on since before March.
