Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company to build ethanol from rice husk plant

In Egypt, the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) is looking to invest in a 50,000 metric ton per year ethanol facility that will use rice straw as feedstock as it looks to help the government achieve its 20% renewables target for 2020. The fuel will be used for electricity production rather than for transport.
