Using UCO in Mexico City buses could cut emissions but only in newer engines

In Mexico, researchers from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Ambientalis Environmental Consulting did a study looking at the potential impact of replacing diesel with UCO-based biodiesel in buses in Mexico City and found engines with EPA 2004 standards saw significant emissions reductions while engines with EPA 1998 standards even saw emissions increase in some cases.
