Katter’s E10 push for Australia open up old fueds between grain growers and livestock producers

August 18, 2015 |

In Australia, Rob Katter’s push for a 10% ethanol blending mandate is dividing the agricultural industry yet again, after having drawn the ire of the feedlot industry when he proposed the move in years past. The issue has also divided the US agricultural industry, with grain growers in favor and livestock producers against. Feedlot owners are coming out again against the move, saying the policy would jeopardize their feed supplies. Katter has a long list of demands from the new government, including strong action above the 2% ethanol mandate currently on the table, that must see action within 90 days or he will pull the support of his Katter Australian Party in Parliament.
