US ethanol production jumps to annualized 14.66 billion gallon pace
According to EIA data as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 958,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 40.24 million gallons daily. That is up 10,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 956,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 14.66 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 18.6 million barrels. That is a 1.9% decrease from last week.
Imports of ethanol were nonexistent for the week, marking the 20th time in the last 21 weeks that no imports were registered. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 378.7 million gallons daily, a 14-week low. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 896,000 b/d, down from the previous week’s all-time record and an 8-week low. Still, ethanol blending has averaged 903,000 b/d over the past 12 weeks, for an annualized rate of 13.84 billion gallons.Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.62%, a 12-week high.
