European ethanol market on a thin edge with little sign of import relief

In the Netherlands, a lack of import availability into Europe will likely see the intra-community ethanol market remaining tight that will in turn bounce prices back higher in the next week or two following a recent dip. With backwardation in the markets through May thanks to expected impacts from El Niño, there are concerns about non-performance on contracts due to the lack of incoming supplies, which are estimated at up to 75,000 cubic meters per month.
