Zimbabwe expected to grant Hippo Valley an ethanol marketing license

December 7, 2015 |

In Zimbabwe, the government is processing a license for Tongaat Hullet’s Hippo Valley to market ethanol in the domestic market. The company is aiming for 41 million liters of annual production from molasses following several years of mothballed ethanol production. Currently the company is marketing the fuel through a temporary license that expires in December. Currently Green Fuel is the only producer to hold a full license to supply the domestic market’s blending mandate that varies between 5% and 20% depending on supply availability.
