Crazy RIN action post-RFS announcement impacting Eurobob

In the Netherlands, European ethanol prices continue to soar above gasoline prices thanks to a consistently short market with the premium over Eurobob reaching $377.33/cu m on Tuesday, the highest seen in nearly three weeks. Physical arbitrage from the US into the European market have been limited, with some uncertainty entering the market due to the changing RIN situation following the EPA’s 2014-2016 RFS blending announcement. Blenders are looking to reduce their ethanol blends where they can, with the UK and the Netherlands seen as potential opportunities.
