RME premium reaches all-time high after producers mothballed production

In the Netherlands, the premium for rapeseed biodiesel has soared to an all-time high of $566.25 per metric ton thanks to short supplies and low diesel futures. An increase in demand coming into the year’s end has helped to further support the premium. Margins fell into negative numbers in early December, forcing producers to scale back production that in turn hit supplies and pushed up prices that saw the margin bounce back to $27.25 on Friday.
