Brazilian 10-year energy plan to boost ethanol production 54% by 2024

In Brazil, the country’s 10-year energy plan was approved on Tuesday by the Ministry of Mines and Energy with an eye to producing 43.9 million cubic meters by 2024, up 54% from today’s 28.5 million cubic meters. The plan for 2014-2024 calls for investment of more than $360 billion during the period, with the country’s installed power generation increasing by more than 55% to 206.4GW, of which 49GW, about a quarter, will be produced from renewable energy sources excluding large and small hydro power.
