In India, the government is seeking to set out a roadmap for the development of cellulosic ethanol in the country with an eye on bridging the technology and finance gaps required to reach implementation. The policy is meant to be a boost to farmers who can supply crop waste for ethanol production and help the country reach 10% blending, up from the current 5% is that supplied by sugar mills.
