The Andersons sees industry consolidation around the corner

In Michigan, The Andersons says squeezed ethanol crush margins could soon lead to industry consolidation, especially among those who aren’t well capitalized despite many strengthening their balance sheets during the hay days of 2014. Though the company sees a difficult first quarter as low oil prices continue to pressure ethanol and corn prices in the eastern corn belt rise due to smaller harvests, the company expects prices to return to better margins come April through June when some producers go offline for annual maintenance.
