Chinese DDGS imports jump year-on-year in January but slump against December

February 22, 2016 |

In China, DDGS imports soared four-fold on the year to 290,653 metric tons in January, but it’s a steep drop of 30% from December’s 419,896 tons, a drastic cut due to concerns over the launch of an anti-dumping investigation by the government against US exporters. Shipments before May are expected to still be “safe” from the probe, but falling demand as already hit prices with January shipments fetching about $235.4 per ton compared to $305 per ton in July when DDGS imports reached their peak.
