NW Europe biodiesel premium falls to 12-week low on bearish veg oils

March 2, 2016 |

In the Netherlands, biodiesel’s premium over fossil diesel fell to a 12-week low thanks to bearish price movements in vegetable oil feedstocks, particularly soy oil trade on CME and palm oil traded in Malaysia whereas European rapeseed oil prices held fairly steady following a price slide last week. The RED FAME 0 premium on Tuesday was 414.75/mt while the RED RME premium was $484.50/mt. Demand remains low until later in the spring when buyers begin to ramp up summer spec biodiesel stocks.
