DDGS demand on the rise in Vietnam as Chinese pork crisis bites

In Vietnam, demand for US-origin DDGS is soaring due to China’s pork crisis that has led to a shortage of import availability, primarily from Europe, and increased need for local producers to boost production, thus requiring more animal feed. Q1 saw DDGS imports rise a whopping 26% but they fell again the following quarter to one of the lowest in the past six years, leaving market analysts to wonder if the trend for increased US DDGS demand will continue or if it was a one-off.
