CNH says autonomous tractors are here

September 11, 2016 |

CNH Industrial’s Innovation Group has developed concept autonomous tractors to allow remote deployment, monitoring and control of the machines.  Designed to remove the operator from the cab, the new tractors have complete sensing and perception systems, including radar, LiDAR (range finding lasers) and video cameras, to ensure obstacles or obstructions are detected and avoided.

An interactive interface has been developed to control the autonomous tractors, while at the same time providing immediate and secure feedback, recording and transfer of operational data.  The machine and implement can be monitored and controlled either via a desktop computer or a portable tablet, allowing users to access this data, wherever they are. This facilitates right-time decision making to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.  Farmers will maintain full control and ownership of their data.
