Finland would have to blend 33% biofuels by 2030 to achieve Paris commitments

In Finland, biofuel blending would have to reach 33% from the current 13% by 2030 in order to achieve the government’s targets set out in its Paris Agreement commitment. The Paris Agreement following COP21 in December 2015 came into force on Monday. In order to achieve the volumes required for blending, three new billion-euro biorefineries would need to be developed. Neste has already said that if the mandate is indeed raised then it will invest in increased production.
