Queensland says 100 companies have expressed interest in building biorefineries

In Australia, 100 companies have filed Expressions of Interest to build commercial-scale biorefineries in Queensland following the Premier’s call to develop the industry in order to supply the US Navy among other customers. Companies have until January 18 to submit EoIs. In addition to the Queensland Biofutures 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan, the Queensland government has also allotted nearly A$10 million over the next three years to see its goal of creating a A$1 billion biorefining industry by 2026.
