Vietnam looking to see how much it would cost to restart mothballed ethanol plants

In Vietnam, with the government backing out of 12 loss-making investments including the $96 million Dung Quat Bio-Ethanol Plant, the deputy prime minister has asked for an investigation into the costs required to start the plant up again. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has been charged with the analysis. In November, the national parliament passed a law requiring review of the plant, along with Binh Phuoc Ethanol and Phu Tho Ethanol, among other facilities.
