Roxal Bioenergy ordered to shut down while it sorts out pollution from wastewater treatment pond

November 23, 2017 |

In the Philippines, Roxal Bioenergy has been issued a cease and desist order by the provincial government to stop ethanol production following emissions of a foul odor coming from the wastewater treatment pond over three days in October. In April, the company was slammed for a fishkill that was the result of some of its waste leaking into nearby waterways. The order will be lifted as soon as the company has proven that it is taking proactive steps to resolving the air pollution issue.
