In Brazil, Reuters reports that UNICA data shows sugar mills continued to favor ethanol production during the second half of August despite analysts’ estimates that the crush could switch towards more sugar production. Mills produced 2.45 billion liters during H2 August, up from 1.97 billion during the first half of the month and more than 27% higher compared to last year. Ethanol sales also reached an all-time high during H2 August at 1.05 billion liters.
