October 23, 2018 |

In Nigeria, the federal government has pledged $30 million towards the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp.’s cassava-based ethanol project in Ondo state that will see 15,000 acres of land used to grow the crop. Land movement is expected to begin this week while the official groundbreaking for the project will take place in November. The project has been under development for some time but was abandoned after the death of the former governor. The NNPC more recently revived the project as part of its wider strategy to develop ethanol production throughout the country.
