Malaysia preparing “B20/B30-ready” vehicle specification

In Malaysia, Reuters reports that the primary industries ministry is getting closer to boosting biodiesel consumption again as it prepares a “B20/B30-ready” vehicle specification in conjunction with the international trade and industry ministry. The country has been undergoing consultations with heavy vehicle manufacturers and testing in order to boost its blending mandate again in an effort to absorb some of the biodiesel surplus left behind by Europe when it closed its markets. Malaysia boosted its biodiesel mandate to 10% in December from 7% previously.
