MNRE looking for bidders on biogas and thermal energy evaluation study

In India, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy issued a request for expression of interest for an independent third-party evaluation study of its biogas-based power generation (off-grid) and thermal energy applications program (BPGTP). The program is for the dissemination and deployment of medium size biogas plants in the rural, semi-urban areas of the country to help meet the power needs of small dairies, rural industries and farmers by converting organic wastes such as cattle dung and other biodegradable wastes as input substrates.

The period for the evaluation study would be the three years from 2017-18 to 2019-20. The deadline to submit the EoI to the ministry is December 17th.

The program has been implemented in eight states so far – Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. According to the MNRE, the total number of projects in all eight states sums up to 50.
