Farm bailout details expected this week

In Washington, Bloomberg reports that President Trump has told the Secretary of Agriculture to bailout the agriculture industry, details of which are expected to be announced this week. Senators and House members from both sides of the aisle have been calling for financing across the agricultural supply chain to help battle losses as a result of COVID-19, including specific measures for the biofuels industry which is suffering its worst financial crisis in history. Already $23.5 billion in funding for farmers have been approved by Congress while Trump said on Friday a program of at least $16 billion will be developed, though specifics have not been forthcoming.
