Overflowing ethanol: UP distillers ask OMCs to look for depots outside state

In India, the Business Standard newspaper reports that Uttar Pradesh sugar mills are desperate to offload ethanol supplies as storage runs out. But oil marketing companies have their storage full as well, and in nearby states too, so mills are asking for OMCs to take ethanol to states like “Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Odisha, Kerala, AP and Telangana,” a distiller said, in hopes of finding somewhere to put the product so mills can distill from molasses produced in the season that is just winding down.
