Wilmar Sarina distilly doubles ethanol production to fight COVID-19

In Australia, the North Queensland Register newspaper reports that the Sarina distillery has doubled its ethanol production due to COVID-19. The Wilmar-owned sugar mill has ramped up production and sales to front-line medical services including Queensland Health with Q1 industrial ethanol sales increasing 80% on the year. Sales to cleaning and hygiene product manufacturers has increased by 300% on the year. Installed production capacity at the facility is 60 million liters per year using sugarcane molasses as feedstock.
