In Brazil, Reuters reports the soybean industry is pleading for the biodiesel blend to be increased from 12% to 14% for the product sold in the June bimonthly auction. The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove) says the increase in biodiesel blending could allow the sector to maintain production even with the drop in demand for fuels due to the Codiv-19 pandemic. Soy oil represents more than 70% of the biodiesel feedstock. The association said that as long as consumption continues to be affected by restrictive measures on vehicle traffic, that the biodiesel mix be defined at each auction of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
