Thailand to look at blockchain for palm oil trade

In Thailand, the Bangkok Post reports that the Energy Minister wants to begin a dialogue with palm oil traders through the Energy Business Department regarding the potential for using blockchain in an effort to help palm oil producers get higher prices without going through a middleman. Oil palm planters say they get about a third less for their palm nuts than what they’re really worth. The program that could begin as soon as June is meant to be a way to help support farmers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
