Arriva trials HVO on Dutch train route ahead of September roll out

In the Netherlands, rail operator Arriva has completed a trial using HVO on a train running between Groningen and Friesland ahead of the September roll out where the company plans to operate several of its routes using the biofuel. In an effort to reduce its environmental impact, the company has invested in 50 new trains that will operate routes between the two northern provinces under a recently signed contract. The HVO trial has been under development for two years.
