Petrobras waiting for green light from ANP to take renewable diesel production commercial

In Brazil, following the successful production of renewable diesel from soy oil, Reuters reports Petrobras says it is ready to move to commercial scale production as soon as the ANP green lights sales of the fuel. The company announced earlier this month its intention to reduce the carbon intensity of its fuels by 16% over the next five years and fuels such as its new renewable diesel are part of the strategy. Petrobras has pitted itself against the biodiesel industry making claims that its RD doesn’t have contaminants “like biodiesel”, which the biodiesel producers refute.
