Largest biomass power plant in Ukraine produces 16MW from sunflower seed waste

In the Ukraine, local news reports a 16MW biomass-fuel thermal power plant has been commissioned, the largest in the country. Located near a sunflower seed oil plant, the facility will use waste from processing the oilseeds to fuel the facility. It uses two, 35-ton per hour boilers and a steam condensing turbine generator from Siemens. Another report said the facility is said to operate at 90% efficiency and took two years to build and commission.
