Group of 16 small refiners call on Trump for help with “gap-year” requests

August 25, 2020 |

In Washington, Reuters reports that 16 small refiners including those from Hawaii, Wyoming, Montana and Louisiana have written to President Trump looking for him to support the sector who they say is being harmed by the Renewable Fuel Standard. They call the Trump Administration’s attempts to help farmers through supporting biofuels and the RFS a “false premise” that goes against the President’s efforts to protect energy infrastructure. The refiners are looking for approvals of the “gap-year” SRE applications that are currently under consideration by the EPA.
