Brazilian biodiesel market to open up from 2022

September 21, 2020 |

In Brazil, Platts reports the domestic biodiesel market will open up from January 1, 2022 when up to 20% of biodiesel supplies may be purchased on the spot market, including imports for the first time ever, but 80% of supplies will still have to be purchased from small farmer-grown feedstock through the social seal program. The ANP will have to approve biodiesel contracts ahead of time but it is expected that they will be similar to those used for anhydrous ethanol.
