India to increase sugarcane-based ethanol prices from December 1

October 29, 2020 |

In India, the ANI news agency reports the cabinet committee has agreed to boost the price paid by oil marketing companies for ethanol by a few rupees per liter. The price increase is only for ethanol from sugarcane juice, B-heavy molasses and C-heavy molasses feedstocks. The government is still looking at how to support grain-based ethanol production and may do so by including it in the soft loans program. The new higher prices will apply from the new ethanol marketing year starting December 1.
