In Iowa, Feedstuffs reports that Flint Hills’ Shell Rock ethanol plant began delivering NexPro protein last month following installation of Maximized Stillage Co-Products technology, the second of its facilities to do so. Fluid Quip Technologies’ MSC technology allows for producing higher protein, higher value products for the animal feed market compared to DDGS and corn oil which are typically separated out from stillage at ethanol plants. Flint Hills has 125,000 tons of installed NexPro production capacity against more than 1.5 million tons of DDGS.
