In Iowa, local press reports at a fire broke out at the Hero Biodiesel plant in Clinton early Wednesday morning with flames seen reaching as high as 60 feet in the air. There was concern that the fire would reach the facility’s two methanol tanks, but it was put out in time before further damage was caused. The cause of the fire nor the damage resulting from it were reported. The fire was extinguished and crews packed up in less than five hours after arriving on the scene.
