Argentine biodiesel exports rose nearly 175% on year through February

In Argentina, El Litoral newspaper reports that data from IES Consultores shows that biodiesel exports totaled $144.3 million in the first two months of 2021, which represented a year-on-year increase of 174.4%, reaching 148,000 metric tons. January biodiesel production fell 73.3% on the year 28,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 73.3%, while the production of bioethanol fell 20.6%. Argentine biofuel producers are currently facing a major threat from policymakers who are seeking to reduce blending for both ethanol and biodiesel when the current mandate expires in May.
