Anhydrous premiums over hydrous jump to record high in Brazil’s Center-South

April 6, 2021 |

In Brazil, Platts reports the premium for Center-South anhydrous over hydrous ethanol reached a record high of 14.3% during the week ending March 31 as the official crop year wound up. The premium was 3% higher than during the same period last year. COVID-19 impacts on driving have played havoc with prices as well as premiums over the past season, while anhydrous ethanol supplies have been tighter than usual during the interharvest period due to tighter restrictions on imports from the US.
