March Brazil biodiesel production rose nearly 22% over February

April 27, 2021 |

In Brazil, Platts reports ANP data shows that despite high feedstock costs, biodiesel production rose in March to 639.9 million liters, up more than 16% on the year and nearly 22% over February. Low production volumes in February led to record prices earlier in April that forced the ANP to halt the biodiesel auction at the behest of the energy ministry and cut the blending mandate to 10% from 13% for May-June. The ANP held a complimentary auction this week to ensure supplies for the blending period, selling 1 billion liters at an average of $1 per liter, according to Renewables Now.
