EPA seen cutting 2021 RVO but increasing blending for 2022

August 23, 2021 |

In Washington, Reuters reports sources say the Environmental Protection Agency, as soon as last Friday, was expected to send its recommendations regarding the 2021 and 2022 biofuel blending mandates to the White House, recommendations which suggest levels below 2020 levels for 2021 but higher for 2022. On news of the lower blending volume proposal, said to be in response to lower fuel consumption during COVID-19 rather than a nod to the oil industry who has been pushing against rising blending levels, D6 RIN prices fell back to $1.42 on Friday from $1.60 earlier in the week.
