CARB CEO sees green groups keeping low carbon fuel projects out of the state

October 20, 2021 |

In California, Reuters reports the executive officer at the California Air Resources Board says that pushback from environmental advocates who he says don’t want to see any new fuel production in the state have slowed down the implementation of low carbon fuels locally. Instead, most of the fuels that are benefiting from the state’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard come from outside of the state. He said he welcomes the moves by some refiners to invest in renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, noting that aviation is going to be using liquid fuel still for quite some time.
