Mondelēz International switches Nordic transport to HVO

November 11, 2021 |

In Sweden, as part of Mondelēz International’s commitment to a 2050 net zero emissions target, the company is replacing regular diesel with HVO biodiesel on all transports in Sweden, Finland and Denmark. The use of HVO fuel, which is a renewable diesel alternative completely based on food waste, is estimated to reduce 2100 metric tons of CO2 annually – a reduction of 88 per cent.

Since May 1, 2021, Mondelēz International have used HVO biodiesel on selected transports to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) of the company’s own transports from factory to warehouse. The company works actively to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the business and has worked closely with transport company Frode Laursen to further reduce CO2 emissions in their transports. As of 1 November 2021, the company is using HVO fuel for all transports with Frode Laursen.
