Tongaat Hulett to build 20M liter ethanol plant in Mozambique

In Mozambique, Intelegencia Empresorial reports Tongaat Hulett, the majority shareholder in the Xinavane and Mafambisse sugar factories, in the southern Mozambican provinces of Maputo and central Sofala, respectively, will build an ethanol distillery with a capacity of 20 million liters.
The molasses-based facility will be built at the Xinavane sugar factory and is expected to take two years before coming online. CO2 for the soft drinks industry as well as vinasse-based fertilizers will provide additional revenue streams from the project.
