Petroperú cancels controversial biodiesel purchase

In Peru, Politica reports Petroperú issued a statement declaring the biodiesel contract with Heaven Petroleum Operators void.

The document reads that, before journalistic versions about the process of acquiring biodiesel B100 in the local market from the company Heaven Petroleum Operators (HPO) , the administration of Petroperú decided to declare the nullity of the contracts derived from the Competition Process No. COM-012-2021-GDCH / PETROPERÚ “Acquisition of biodiesel B100 in the local market for the period January-April 2022”.

It is added that such a determination was made “having detected that a notary public was not present at the reception of the proposals, as the procedure indicates.” It also indicates that, according to its commitment to guarantee the supply of the hydrocarbon market, “Petroperú will make a new call to meet the demand for this product.”
