February 24, 2022 |

In Arizona, Bioplastics International has launched a water soluble PVA and bio resins from plant starches to replace petroleum-based plastics. The hydrophilic synthetic polymer is manufactured by the hydrolysis of polyvinyl acetate, which is formed by the polymerization of vinyl acetate. PVA is safe for human consumption, having been approved by the US FDA, and is currently used as a food additive and in the medical industry. The water-soluble polymer can be mass produced in vast quantities and can be used for blown films, extrusion, or injection molding processes, virtually any product can be made from PVA.
