bluShift successfully tests hybrid biofuel-powered rocket engine

March 7, 2022 |

In Maine, Aerospace Testing International reports bluShift successfully tested its hybrid, biofuel Modular Adaptable Rocket Engine for Vehicle Launch, MAREVL 2.0, with partial power for five seconds. Future tests will include full-power, 90-second full duration burns while later this year it expects to do suborbital flight testing following static fire tests. This latest round of tests showed “excellent” flow stability results while also proving ignition capacity and gathering initial engine performance data. bluShift flew its first Stardust technology demonstration in January 2021.
