In Spain, Cadena Ser reports the energy crisis has aroused interest in finally opening the never-used Toreno biodiesel plant. Belonging to an American investor who did not manage to open the facilities once they were finished a dozen years ago due to the lack of competitiveness of the fuel, the plant has remained intact and monitored. Now circumstances have changed: most of the biodiesel facilities in Europe have disappeared and the price of petroleum derivatives may now make it competitive.
