Bihar wants ethanol production quotas dropped

In India, the Economic Times reports Bihar wants the right to produce as much ethanol as it can from corn and rice husk rather than be limited by the production quotas the government has established for it. Fifteen ethanol plants are under construction while one is up and running and another has run into problems. State production quotas are based on consumption demand, but with surplus feedstocks, it says it shouldn’t be limited by its comparatively small market.
