Ethanol production falls as lower demand expected despite summer driving season

In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports that ethanol production fell to 1.044 million barrels a day, falling for the third consecutive week, despite crushing margins remaining good. There are concerns that demand will fall which is why some producers cut their production runs. Fourth of July weekend typically is a major fuel demand event when higher volumes are typically blended with gasoline as summer driving season kicks off, but blending was fractionally lower from the week before.
